24/25 A Season of Inspiration

The CMC Paris is delighted to announce our 2024-25 season, featuring four captivating programmes of chamber music. This year, we will explore the theme of ‘Inspiration’ with performances that will inspire you in turn.

In November 2024, we continue our ongoing series the Beethoven String Quartet Project with Mozart’s masterful A major String Quartet, K. 464—a work that draws inspiration from Haydn—and Beethoven’s joyful String Quartet, Op. 18, No. 5 which is directly inspired by Mozart’s work.

January 2025 brings a dynamic pairing of piano quartets, an ensemble that blends the power of the piano with the rich expressiveness of strings. We’ll present Brahms’ final work in the genre, the brooding and romantic C minor Quartet, alongside Dohnányi’s youthfully exuberant F-sharp minor Quartet, a piece that embodies the spirit of Brahms while demonstrating Dohnányi’s own modern Hungarian flair.

In March 2025, we welcome back mezzo-soprano Christina Gill and pianist Mirei Tsuji for an entertaining evening of songs. Their varied programme reflects the music that has inspired them along their artistic journeys, promising and engaging and personal performance not to be missed.

Our season concludes in June 2025 with another chapter of the Beethoven String Quartet Project, where we’ll explore Beethoven’s final ‘early’ quartet. Though steeped in the classical tradition of Haydn and Mozart, this piece hints at the composer’s revolutionary quartets to come. Paired with one of Haydn’s late quartets, composed as Beethoven was beginning to find his own voice in the genre, this programme offers a glimpse of how inspiration allows a composer to find his own unique voice.

Our 24/25 season is one that is sure to inspire and we look forward to sharing this musical journey full of inspiration with you.
