MARIE-THÉRÈSE GRISENTI cello

Marie-Thérèse, cello

Marie-Thérèse Grisenti studied piano and cello in Paris, Moscow and Münich. Her collaborations with artists include the British photographer and visual artist Tim Garner, the scenographer Jacques Oursin, improvisation with the street singer Dee Dee, Goran Bregovic and his musicians. These collaborations and her active participation in the artistic life of Parisian squats at the beginning of the 90s are the fabric of her taste for diverse forms of artistic expression.

She has studied with diverse cellists such as Igor Gavrich, Andrej Orkisz, Daniel Shafran, Janos Starker, Michaël Hell, Valentin Berlinsky, Valentin Feïguin, Valentin Erben, Walter Levine and Rainer Schmidt and was the first prize winner of the UFAM international competition. A member of the Arpeggione quartet, founding member of the Franz Trio Franz and the Grisenti Vitantonio Duet, she has performed in diverse venues such as Wigmore Hall, Salle Cortot, Salle Gaveau, Berlin Philharmonie, Münich Philharmonie, as well as in Belgium, Italy, Spain, Iran, China, Ukraine et Russia. She also plays concerts for the project Un piano à l’hôpital at the Gustave Roussy Institute, performs for schools and other diverse locations to bring music to everyone.

Her collaboration with Maestro Sergiu Celibidache left a particular mark on her on both a human and an artistic level. This experience allows her to continue to share her pleasure to perform with the world.

An enthusiastic teacher, she teaches cello at the Conservatoire de Cachan. She collaborates on a regular basis with the Paris Conservatory and gives masterclasses in France, China and Switzerland. Marie-Thérèse is a jury member of the Knuchevitsky and Tchaikovsky International Competitions.
