The CMC Experience

Intimate Performances

You’ll experience the passion of chamber music up-close and personally. Being so close to the performance, you get to see and hear the musicians interact in a way that you can’t at other classical music concerts. The audiences are small too, so you can even get to know other music-lovers.

An Unforgettable Evening Out in Paris

Chamber Music Circle Reception

Not only do we offer great chamber music performances, we provide an unforgettable evening out in Paris. Each event is also an opportunity to enjoy wine and cheese in the company of other English-speaking music-lovers. What could be better than an evening of thrilling music, good wine and cheese, and meeting new friends?

Informative Talks

Chamber Music Concert Talk

Our love is chamber music and we want to inspire that same passion in you. That’s why we don’t only perform, but we talk about the music in a way that enhances your listening experience and encourages an interest in this great art. No musical knowledge needed either, we strive to make our talks understandable and interesting to everyone.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is chamber music?

Originally a genre to be enjoyed in the home (as opposed to the theatre or church), chamber music is quite possibly the most intimate form of the performing arts. Because of the limited size of the home, chamber music usually permits no more than one person per part and no conductor. As a result, each musician becomes an equally important component to the ensemble, and each is intensely involved in the interpretation and performance of the music. This makes for some of the most riveting opportunities to hear music. Many of the great composers throughout history considered their chamber music compositions to be their most private and intimate musical expressions.

What if I don’t know anything about classical music?

Then you’re the perfect audience member for the CMC. Before every performance, we talk about the music in a way that brings the music to life, especially to those who know nothing about classical music. We tell interesting stories about the composers, play musical examples that highlight easy-to-understand concepts about the piece, and explain how the music (often written centuries ago) still relates to our modern day human experience.

I don’t speak French. Is this for me?

Yes, it is for you. Most of our concerts are presented in English. Our audiences come from all over the world and nearly all of them are English-speaking. When you click on a concert, there is always an explanation about what language the presentation will be in.
